BLUROZE FARM, LIPA CITY: A Traveller’s Experience

BLUROZE FARM, LIPA CITY: A Traveller’s Experience

Feb 21, 2010

Lipa City, every time I hear this name, I usually remember lomi and ate V (Ms. Vilma Santos, the star for all seasons). It’s not somewhere I’m really fond of visiting because it is a town in Batangas where there are no beaches. Interestingly, one time I visited, I really wanted to do something different, so I persistently asked my friends about somewhere interesting to visit in the city.

So there, we ended up going to Bluroze Farm-10 minutes away from city. Riding a tricycle, you’ll find a very relaxing nature and wildlife park that is full of surprises. Deep in the heart of the mountains, you’ll find a place where you can find interesting animals roaming around, log cabins to get cozy with your hubby, large grounds for camping and team building, a cafeteria with yummy food, and whole lot more!

Here are, for me, some of interesting features of the farm:

  • THE VIEW DECK – The challenge is to climb an old water tank that is about 100 meters high. On the ground, it seemed to be an easy climb, but when you’re almost on top, you’ll feel your knees cringing when u hear the wind bugging u. But the climb is worth it, because you’ll see a great view of the farm, the city, and the mountains. I will give you a taste of how it looks like when you are at the top. But remember, the thrill of going up the spiral staircase adds up to the appreciation of the view.

    • THE MAZE – Bluroze has placed a large maze within the farm. Better bring someone with you who has a good memory when you attempt to go through the viny maze coz it’s really quite confusing, and right before the maze ends, you’ll still have to cross a hanging bridge. However, a splendid view awaits you at the middle of this maze, I’d rather not squeal how it looks like here. Just see it for yourself.
    • THE BIRDS – Although Bluroze is a wildlife and nature park that featured animals I usually see in zoos or farms like alligators, monkey eating eagle, ostrich,  ducks, sheep, really fat chickens, monkeys, small kangaroos, etc.,  their collection of aviary animals were pretty impressive.

  1. The Wedding Tent

    - Within this nature park, is a grand wedding tent. If you’re looking for a garden wedding that is rain proof, Bluroze would be a good venue to consider. They already have a sound system, tables and all kitchen utensils, flowers, doves, etc., all you have to do is go thru the ceremony and eat. They give good rates too.

Bluroze Farm is quite accessible from the town by either by commute or carpool. If going there by commute, when you are already in Lipa City, just ride a tricycle from Robinsons Lipa or Lipa Bus Stop (maximum fare: P80). The entrance fee is only P100, and if you want to eat a decent meal when you’re inside, just add P50 to your entrance fee. Going back to the city is also not a problem for a commuter because there are tricycles available at the farm’s entrance.
Aside from just having a day trip, Bluroze also has wide grounds for tent camping and a lot of cabins if you opt to stay indoors overnight. A pool is also available in their family villa upon request.
When I asked my friend who grew up in Batangas about what she thought about the place, she said, “I grew up here in Batangas, but I never expected the existence of nature and wildlife parks here. The place is serene, perfect for a self retreat or just a family getaway. It’s a good alternative than just going to malls in Lipa or going the beach if you’re not up for a long travel. For those who wants to commune with nature, Bluroze is a perfect place.”
Btw, they also sell ostrich eggs. To make the trip more memorable and exciting, you can either cook the egg it or keep it until it hatches.

Hi Kicks! Yes. Bluroze is open daily. From Calamba, you need to travel to Lipa. You may get off at Lipa Bus Stop or Robinsons Lipa. You may ride a tricycle to Bluroze. It would cost you around Php 60-80 one way. Just tell the driver that you are bound to Bluroze. Travel time from Robinsons Lipa is 15-20 minutes. The entrance fee is 100 per person but if you want to avail of their meals, which I encourage you to do so, your budget for the entrance should be P150 (with merienda only) to P200 (with sizzling meal). For that very cheap rate, you can stay there from 8 am up to around 6 pm. Let us know if you want us to assist you just in case you will be coming over. Thanks! =)

  7. tnx crisaliz… can i ask again, are we free to visit and watch all the areas of the farm? like the playground? ahm… is it really a nice place if i will be with my friends? i mean, are we going to enjoy the place and not be bored? can you suggest things that we can do together inside the farm? tnx a lot… hoping for ur immediate response…
